Challenge
As a first-of-its-kind facility for the Owner, the project introduced new challenges—integrating the WELL Building Standard on a military project, navigating an unfamiliar and somewhat competing mix of space types, and guiding users through the Design-Build process for the first time. The Owner Team alongside the Design-Build Team successfully navigated a tight budget without compromising the Owner’s ambitious vision and design. Through early and continuous engagement, collaborative coaching, and a wellness-driven design approach, the project delivers a transformative environment that enhances resilience, readiness, and overall well-being for those who serve Oklahoma communities and the nation.
Approach
We engaged users early through an interactive charrette process, continued collaboration throughout acquisition phase and encouraged engagement through construction. Additionally, by coaching the Design-Build Team through each stage of the process, we ensured alignment with the Owner’s vision and empowered the team to succeed. This proactive, hands-on approach created a seamless experience and delivered a facility that truly reflects its purpose.
